Prof Chee Soon Phaik is the Distinguished Professor of Clinical Education in Ophthalmology at the Duke-National University of Singapore Medical School. She is a Senior Consultant of the Cataract and Comprehensive Ophthalmology Service and Ocular Inflammation and Immunology Service at the Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC), where she served as the immediate past head of both the Advanced Cataract Service and the Ocular Inflammation and Immunology Service.
Prof Chee has authored over 300 peer reviewed scientific papers and many book chapters both in complex cataract and uveitis. She serves as a member of several editorial boards including Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Ocular Inflammation and Immunology and Journal of Ophthalmic Inflammation and Infection. She was the Editor for the book ‘Emerging Infectious Uveitis’ and the guest editor for the supplementary journal to Ocular Inflammation and Immunology that collated the Epidemiology of Uveitis in Asia Pacific.

Dr Ronald Yeoh is Medical Director, Founding Partner & Senior Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Eye & Retina Surgeons, Camden Medical.
Dr Yeoh provides expertise in cataract and diseases of the retina. His main areas of interest are in the latest developments in standard and advanced cataract surgery, the use of ultrasound or femtosecond laser technology and the latest advanced technology intraocular lens implants. He is also a dedicated educator of the next generation of eye surgeons in Singapore and the region.
In 2013, he was nominated and elected to be a member of the International Intraocular Implant Club (IIIC) which is a by invitation only club, founded by the inventor of the intraocular lens, Harold Ridley decades ago. He is now the on the Executive Board of the IIIC as the Secretary.
In recognition of his efforts in teaching, in 2014, he was appointed as Adjunct Assistant Professor to the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He was then promoted to Adjunct Associate Professor in 2017. Of particular note, in July 2015, he was elected to be President of the APACRS (Asia-Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons), the leading cataract and refractive surgery organisation in Asia which looks after the training and educational needs of half the worlds' population. He served for three years as President.

Dato’ Dr Khairidzan is currently Associate Professor in Department of Ophthalmology in the Faculty of Medicine, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). He is also the present Director of Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery Services at IIUM Eye Specialist Clinic, Kuantan. Dr Khairidzan spent a year as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor and International Fellow in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive Surgery at the UCLA in 2008. Dr Khairidzan has published a number of articles in scientific journals and made over 300 other scientific presentations. In addition to receiving 7 awards from the IIUM for quality research, he also won the Best Poster award at the Malaysia Singapore Ophthalmology Joint Meeting in 2009 and Malaysia Ophthalmology-Optometry joint meeting 2018. He contributes his expertise on the Malaysia Dry Eye Advisory Board and directly supervised a number of PhD and Masters candidates in the external disease and refractive surgery research works. He was part of Asia Pacific Association of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Programme in 2010. He is the recipient of Malaysia Society of Ophthalmology Achievement Award and Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery Certified Educator Award in 2018. He has also been appointed as Council Member of International Society of Refractive Society (ISRS) for year 2021. He was awarded best teacher award by Kulliyyah of Medicine, IIUM in 2022, 2023 and best clinical award for 2023.

Dr Lee Hung Ming is our Executive Vice Chairman, an ex-officio member of our Medical Board and Centre Director of Lee Hung Ming Eye Centre since 2007.
Dr Lee is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist, currently spearheading Lee Hung Ming Eye Centre (formerly known as Parkway Eye Centre) at Gleneagles Hospital. He is a renowned LASIK and cataract specialist and is considered a key opinion leader in his fields of subspecialty, namely cornea, refractive surgery, external eye disease, cataract and implant surgery. Dr Lee held the position of Senior Consultant for Cataract, Cornea & Refractive Surgery Service at The Eye Institute, National Group, Singapore, which he joined in 2003. Dr Lee currently also sits on the Asia Refractive Council of Bausch & Lomb. Dr Lee has received various awards, including the A.C.E. Award (APSCRS Certified Educator Award) in 2003 for excellence in training and education of eye surgeons in the Asia Pacific region by the Asia Pacific Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the International Gold Medal in 2011 by the Indian Intraocular Implant and Refractive Society for outstanding contribution in the field of ophthalmology, as well as the University of Toronto John Gaby Research Prize. Dr Lee is a licensed medical practitioner in Singapore, the United Kingdom and Canada. He is a member of the Chapter of Ophthalmologist at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

Dr Wong Jun Shyan is our Chief Executive Officer and is an ex-officio member of our Medical Board. Dr Wong was one of the founding members of ISEC KL and has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist at ISEC KL since 2007. He is considered a key opinion leader in his fields of subspecialty and Honorary Part Time Lecturer for the Department of Optometry, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
In 2001, Dr Wong started the Vitreoretinal (VR) Diseases Division of the Department of Ophthalmology at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Dr Wong has lectured and instructed at numerous regional and international conference presentations as well as various academic institutions, including Harvard Medical School. Dr Wong has sat on the board of various professional associations, amongst others, as Vice-Chairman of the Ophthalmologic Society of Malaysian Medical Association and Chairman of the Malaysian Small Incision Surgery (MASIS) Panel.
Dr Wong was a recipient of the American Academy of Ophthalmology Leadership Development Programme in 2006. He has been a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh since 1996 and a member of The Retina Society of the USA since 2007.
Dr Wong graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1991 and obtained his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) in 1996. He completed his residency as Chief Resident in Ophthalmology at the National University Hospital Singapore and continued as Registrar and was a Retina Fellow at the Singapore National Eye Centre. Dr Wong then pursued clinical fellowships in VitreoRetinal (VR) Disease at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital, University of Melbourne, the Beetham Eye Institute of Joslin Diabetes Centre, Boston, the Department of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.

Dr. Choong Yee Fong is a consultant ophthalmic surgeon with sub specialist interest in cataract and refractive surgery, paediatric ophthalmology and strabismology. He is the medical director and a founding member of International Specialist Eye Centre (ISEC) Kuala Lumpur. He is a founding member and a member of the scientific bureau of the World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (WSPOS). He was he organising president of the 5th World Congress of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2024.
He is a key opinion leader in the field of paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus and cataract refractive surgery. He has published more than 40 scientific articles in international medical journals and has given more than 100 lectures and presentations at international ophthalmic meetings.

He has a sub-specialty interest in Cataract Refractive Surgery and is passionate in premium IOLs and refractive surgeries. Dr Chan has undergone a Cataract & Refractive observership under Dr Amir Hamid from Optegra Eye Hospital, London, United Kingdom.
Dr Chan is the current Assistant Secretary for the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology, Committee member of College of Ophthalmologists, Academy of Medicine Malaysia, and Committee member of Myopia Advocacy for Myopia Prevention (MAMP). He also serves as the editorial team of Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Robert Yeo, founder and Medical Director of Southern Specialist Eye Centre (formerly KC Yeo Eye Specialist Centre), plays a key role in guiding the Centre’s vision and growth. A graduate of the University of Malaya, he holds a Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and a Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from Singapore. His training spans Malaysia, Singapore, and the UK, including appointments at renowned institutions such as the Singapore National Eye Centre and Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, Edinburgh. After serving in various senior ophthalmology roles in Malaysia, he transitioned to private practice and established Southern Specialist Eye Centre in 2006. Dr. Tan Chai Keong is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in glaucoma. He obtained his Master of Medicine in Ophthalmology from Universiti Sains Malaysia in 2018 and completed his Glaucoma Fellowship at the National University Hospital, Singapore, earning the national Certificate of Competency in Fellowship Training (CCFT) in 2024.

Dr. Pyae is an experienced ophthalmologist specializing in advanced cataract and anterior segment surgery. She graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Medicine (1), Yangon in 2006, and obtained her Master’s Degree in Ophthalmology in 2014. In 2016, she became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, earning the Muthusamy Gold Medal for achieving the highest score in the Part A FRCSed Ophthalmology exam on her first attempt. She also received the FICO fellowship from the International Council of Ophthalmology the same year.
Dr. Pyae has trained internationally, completing observerships in the USA and receiving a scholarship for the Lancaster Course in Ophthalmology sponsored by Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. In 2020–2021, she completed a clinical fellowship in Advanced Cataract Surgery at the Singapore National Eye Centre under Prof. Soon-Phaik Chee, including training in femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery.

Dr. Mohammad Hudzaifah bin Nordin is a medical lecturer and ophthalmologist at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), Terengganu. With a growing interest in cataract and refractive surgery, he actively explores advancements in surgical techniques to optimize visual outcomes. He is currently a member of the IIUM Cornea, External Disease, and Refractive Surgery Programme, where he continues to enhance his expertise in the field.
As an emerging researcher, Dr. Hudzaifah has contributed to ophthalmology through publications in indexed journals, focusing on ocular structural changes in systemic diseases and their implications for refractive outcomes. His research includes studies on retinal and choroidal thickness, optic neuropathies, and the effects of pharmacological agents on corneal and lens parameters.
He has secured research grants, including investigations on ocular parameter variations in response to different pharmacological exposures. Additionally, he has co-led studies on hemoglobin disorders and their ocular manifestations. His findings have been presented at national and international conferences, particularly in general ophthalmology, cataract, and refractive surgery.
Dr. Hudzaifah remains actively engaged in research, peer reviewing, and academic initiatives, positioning himself as a promising contributor to the advancement of cataract and refractive surgery in Malaysia.

Dr. Choong Yean Yaw is an experienced ophthalmologist with a medical degree from University Malaya (1990) and a Master’s in Ophthalmology from the National University of Singapore. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and completed subspecialty training in cornea and refractive surgery in the UK.
He specializes in corneal and external eye diseases, with expertise in ocular surface disorders and dry eyes. He pioneered deep anterior lamellar keratoplasty (DALK) in Malaysia and has performed over 200 corneal crosslinking treatments for Keratoconus.
Dr. Choong is active in teaching, giving lectures, and conducting live surgical demonstrations locally and internationally. Since 1999, he has participated in numerous charity eye surgeries, including annual missions in Myanmar and local free cataract surgeries.
He also advises the Ministry of Health on ophthalmic policy, contributes to the Malaysian National Transplant Registry, and teaches at local institutions.

He is currently the Medical Director at LEC Eye Centre in Ipoh, Malaysia and is also the President of the Malaysian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals as well as contributed book chapters to allied health textbooks and has also authored an eye care book for the general public. He is currently a Reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology, Eye, Asia Pacific Journal of Ophthalmology and Malaysian Journal of Ophthalmology.
Dr Lee has been an active educator in the Asia Pacific region and is currently a member of the Board of Officers of the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons. He has also been a recipient of Achievement Awards from the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology as well as the Malaysian Society of Ophthalmology.
